Te Kamo Kindergarten Philosophy is based around support for each other, respecting our whÄnau and their cultures, celebrating and acknowledging success, and upmost we are always striving for improved learning outcomes for our tamariki.
Te Kamo Kindergarten is a proud Bronze Enviroschool. We are learning about, celebrating and empowering tamariki to look after, PapatÅ«Änuku. Enviroschools is a whole centre journey, incorporating knowledge and ideas from Kaiako, tamariki, whÄnau and the wider community. We are guided in our mahi by the Enviroschools Kaupapa which highlights five Guiding Principles ā NgÄ MÄtÄpono ā Learning for Sustainability, MÄori Perspectives, Empowered Students, Respect for the Diversity of People and Cultures and Sustainable Communities. These are embedded in our Kindergarten Philosophy, procedures and curriculum planning.
Our two Pou at the entrance of our kindergarten reflect our strong commitment to building and maintaining a great sense of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, as well as acknowledging our Tangata Whenua.Ā Alongside the addition of our Pou we were also gifted the nameĀ Te Kamo KindergartenĀ as an additional acknowledgement of all of the above.
We welcome visitors at any time and invite you to call in and visit our environment, meet our tamariki and kaiako and get a real sense of who we are.Ā Tamariki can be enrolled at any age and once enrolled will go onto the waiting list.Ā Historically the oldest child on the list will be invited to take the next available space, however, other factors and Head Teacher discretion, may also at times influence this decision.
We have 3 fully qualified teachers: Hayley Campbell (Head Teacher), Paula Crump (Teacher) and Shane Winton (Teacher).Ā Alongside the teaching team we are also supported by Christine Clancey (0.5 Teacher) and Kelli Scott (Office Administrator) who is available 3 days a week to answer any questions you may have.
We have a roll of 30 children and operate 5 days per week from 8:30am until 2:30pm.
We are operating an ALL YEAR MODEL.
We are now proud to offer FEES FREE.Ā The children currently attending range in age from 2 years to 5 years old and we have a number of siblings, cousins and extended whÄnau attending.
